Basic Center Program

The Basic Center Program provides youth up to age 18 with emergency shelter, food, clothing, counseling, and referrals for health care and follow up services. Additionally, youth will receive life and job skills training. Some examples include financial literacy, cooking, healthy communication skills, and college and career readiness.

The Maternity Group Home
and
Transitional Living Program

The Maternity Group Home (MGH) program is designed to promote long-term, economic independence to ensure the well-being of the youth and their child(ren). In the MGH program, pregnant and parenting youth are provided with the resources they need to grow into healthy, independent adults fully capable of supporting themselves their families. 

The Transitional Living Program (TLP) at Seasons of Change equips homeless youth ages 18 through 21 years old with the skills and education necessary to become independent, productive adults. The program’s goal is to help formerly homeless youth develop much-needed independent living skills in a nurturing environment that offers stability, consistency and safety. Created for older teens who truly have no other resources, the program provides no-cost: 

No-cost services include: 

  • Housing (up to 18 months) and basic necessities like food and clothing 
  • Medical and dental care 
  • Childcare assistance 
  • Pre and postnatal care 
  • Parenting skill classes 
  • Counseling 
  • Education assistance 
  • Job aptitude evaluation and career planning services 
  • Life skills training 
  • Community service learning activities 
  • Assistance locating and leasing apartments 
  • Case management 

Youth can move through the program at their own pace and retain access to counseling and case management services even after exiting the program for up to 90 days.

Personal Responsibility Program (PREP)

Personal Responsibility Program (PREP) replicates effective, evidence-based program models or substantially incorporates elements of projects that have been proven to delay sexual activity, among youth.  The target population are youth between the ages of 14 -25 who are homeless, in foster care, live in rural areas with high teen birth rates, or come from racial or ethnic minority groups.  The program also supports pregnant and parenting youth. 

Prep Goals & Objectives: To prevent pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, including HIV/AIDS. 

PREP projects also offer services to prepare young people for adulthood by implementing activities that address three or more of the six congressionally mandated subjects areas below: 

  1. Healthy relationships, including development of positive self-esteem and relationship dynamics, friendships, dating, romantic involvement, marriage and family interactions 
  2. Positive adolescent development to include promotion of healthy attitudes and values about adolescent growth and development, body image, racial and ethnic diversity, and other related subjects;        
  3. Financial literacy, to support the development of self- sufficiency and independent living skills  
  4. Parent- child communication skills          
  5. Education and employment preparation skills; and        
  6. Healthy life skills, such as goal-setting, decision making, negotiation, communication, inter-personal skills, and stress management.
